Happy Mother's Day
First I want to start off by wishing all the mothers out there a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!
Mothers are so special, in all that they do. Mothers are sometimes under appreciated for what they do. The little things, like making sure dinner is on the table, having clean socks & underwear for the husband, changing diapers, making sure the kids are clean, and just the daily grind of running a household. Today is a day where all the mothers can forget about folding the laundry or cooking dinner. Enjoy it ladies!

My mother's day was extra-special this year! I feel like my husband tops himself each year! We have a family tradition of going to my MIL's house (my mom goes too!) for brunch. All of the guys and women who aren't mothers prepare and cook brunch for us mothers. This year we had pancakes, quiche, fruit tart, pastries, scrambled eggs, over easy eggs, rolls, bagels, bacon, milk, juice & coffee. It was absolutely TO DIE FOR!!! They did a great job! After the prayer, the mothers got to serve themselves the food first and eat. It was soooo yummy!

After eating, we always take family photos. It's a time of year that the family is always together, so that's why we do it then! This year the girls wore baby pink and the boys wore baby blue. I think the pictures turn out nice! I'm still waiting on my MIL to upload the ones that she took, but here are a few of mine...

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!
We had a very blessed Easter. The entire family got together at Joel & Valerie's house for brunch. We had a yummy spread of pancakes, quiche, bacon, sandwiches, pastries, doughnuts, fruit, cheese, bread, etc.
After everyone ate, the kids got some Easter baskets and then we had an egg hunt. Actually, 2. We did one for the older girls and then one for all of the little kids!
Miguel read a story about the reason for Easter. The celebration of Jesus' death on the cross and resurrection into eternal life with the Father. What a beautiful love story. Thank you Jesus for dying for me. Thank you for taking the burden of all of my sins so I may live forever, with you.
Above are pictures of each of the grand kids (from both side of our family) in age order. More Easter pictures can be found on my smugmug.

Easter Egg Dyeing

The family got together at Joel & Valerie's house tonight to dye Easter eggs. This was Colin's first time, and though he had fun dyeing 1 egg...the fun wore off after about 5 minutes. Colin did have a blast playing with Christian, and the grown-ups had fun dyeing eggs! More pictures on my smugmug.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all!
We had a traditional Irish dinner of corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, applesauce, and irish soda bread. Mom has made it every year for as long as I can remember. I got a few good pictures of the family! More on my smugmug.

Super Bowl Party
This is the first year that I haven't worked Super Bowl Sunday in a few years, so I thought it would be nice to have a little party! Almost all of the family came over, except those that were sick (and almost all of the rest of us ended up sick anyway), and one of my neighbors/friend came over. Another friend was supposed to come as well, but she ended up with the flu! These two pictures are of everyone with their 3D glasses on watching a few commercials. The rest of the pics are on smugmug.

Brunch w/ the Family

The whole family (minus Megan) went to have brunch at Spoons in downtown McKinney this morning. I was especially excited, b/c since I'm not working Sundays anymore, I was able to attend! It's always good to get everyone together!

Dinner at Saltgrass
Patty's friend Michelle arrived today from Florida. We all went out to Saltgrass for dinner. Courtney was able to come too! Yay...and BTW, I didn't order chicken...this time I got a steak sandwich.
